US Census Bureau | Statistics and data from the Census Bureau.
National Bureau of Economic Research | Private nonprofit research organization providing data, statistics, and analysis.

Index of US Departments & Agencies | Links to official websites for every US federal department and agency. Nearly all of them publish some sort of publicly accessible statistics or data.

data.gov | Unified search for US government open data. You may have better luck searching within a specific department or agency.
