Library Policies & Privileges

Study Rooms

The library contains 4 rooms on the second floor for individual or group study. Study rooms can only be reserved by Lake Forest College students. Rooms can be reserved by asking at the main library desk.

  • Study rooms are checked out for 2 hours.
  • Study rooms are checked out on a first-come, first served basis.
  • Study rooms must be left with all dry-erase writing surfaces erased, and all furniture returned to its original location.
  • Study rooms must be vacated ten minutes prior to closing.

Please note: Students who have active fines for lost or damaged items may not be eligible to check out study rooms until the fines are paid or resolved.

Classrooms

Classrooms in the library may only be reserved by faculty and staff. There are 6 classrooms on Level 2 in the library, 5 of which are currently able to be reserved:

  • Room 203 has 30 PCs; the podium has a Blu-ray player.
  • Room 205 (seats about 15) has a projector and podium with a DVD and VHS player
  • Room 208 has 24 Macs (that also run Windows); the podium has a Blu-ray player.
  • Room 237 has 24 PCs; the podium computer has a DVD player.
  • Rooms 221 (seats about 25) has a projector and podium with a DVD and VHS player.

Faculty may reserve a room through the online room scheduler.

Recurring room reservations for student organizations and groups are usually not permitted.  Exceptions to this policy may be granted at the discretion of the Library Director.
