Academic Honesty

  • For this class, you will not be writing a research paper, but you will be using sources of information.  It is crucial that you learn how to use such sources responsibly and ethically.
  • The Ethics Center's Statement on Plagiarism clarifies when and how to give credit to a source of information, and explains the consequences of failing to do so.
  • In this class, you will use the APA style for citing your sources.  Refer to your copy of A Pocket Style Manual by Diana Hacker as well as the Nova Southeastern University APA Style Guide.
  • If you find yourself facing a charge of academic dishonesty, please refer to The College Catalog's section on Academic Honesty to learn more about what constitutes academic dishonesty and what the procedures are for students.

Note: For this class, you will be writing a review of the films Iris/Still Alice and The Diving Bell and the Butterfly.  It would be completely unethical for you to read reviews of these films before writing your own.
