What is Government Information?
Government information includes all print and electronic publications issued by the federal or state government, as well as publications issued at government expense. The federal government issues over 50,000 publications annually, many of which are available only in electronic formats (CD-ROM or Internet).Why Use Government Information?

Donnelley and Lee Library at Lake Forest College is a 20% selective U.S. Federal Depository Library. This means the library receives approximately 20% of the documents the federal government publishes. The government information collection includes core materials concerning all branches of government, with a special focus on Congressional hearings and Census reports.All government information resources are available to the public during library hours. Much of the federal government information received by Donnelley and Lee Library may be located through the Library Catalog; many other government documents are available to the public online via GPO Access.
