Dr. Barbara O. Taylor, Ph.D.

     Dr. Barbara Olin Taylor (B.A., Smith; Ph.D., Northwestern University) studied in the Kellogg School of Business, Northwestern U.  She then turned her attention to transferring from the business environment/for-profit sector to the educational field the newer-developed methodologies of transactional analysis , action research , and organizational development .  Working with established figures and their works in the educational field, especially the late Ronald R. Edmonds (1935-1983), she (1) pioneered in collaboration with others the formulation of the Effective School Process (SM), (2) oversaw and gained support for the development of several modules to be employed in schools’ assisted self-studies, and (3) promoted the methodologies to many public and private consitutencies.   The Effective School Process has been implemented in several good-sized school systems across the U.S.  Dr. Taylor has written articles, co-authored books, and made numerous presentations to constituent groups.  She serves on the Board of Directors of the Excelsior! Foundation.
